Top Bowls officials meet on Friday to settle a dispute that has plunged the
County premier team competition - The Manfield Cup into bitter controversy.
Unofficially Kettering Lodge won the Manfield Cup with Kettering Cons runners-up.
The result is still unofficial because both clubs face enquiries into complaints that they breached the competition rules. Protest, made before the results were known are understood to be based on
Rule C of the Manfield Cup that relates to. naming the players taking part.
Part of the rule demands that all bowlers taking part must be named before the competition starts.
Officials are to investigate complaints at a meeting of the Draws Committee at Wellingborough.
At the meeting the result stood
The runners-up Kettering Cons were presented with the "George Bull" Trophy
Donated by his family in his memory
